Mileage costs are not part of normal pet transport service, but are a business expense. However, mileage only adds to the total bill if a service exceeds 60 minutes of drive time, or the route extends beyond service area boundaries. Rates are not arbitrary; they are set according to the current IRS Standard Mileage Rates (and so may vary).
While some companies charge customers for every mile driven, Canine Migration only charges for the extra. Mileage charges help cover the costs of extra gas, drive time, and wear and tear on vehicles.
It’s a small addition, but it helps keep vehicles and drivers in good shape. More importantly, putting that money back into the vehicles helps keeps your pet(s) safe.
